Hat tip to Brian at BlueNC for this news — homobigot Vernon Robinson, who tried and failed to unseat Congressman Brad Miller in the 13th District race here in 2006, has picked up something as a consolation prize — the “Willie” award for Worst Political Advertisement, given by progressive thinktank Growth & Justice.
Here’s what Vern actually put on the air to receive the honor; he does the NC GOP proud:

Jeremy of Good As You has the screenshots of the creative but too-late attempt by Save California (from gay marriage)’s Randy Thomasson to remove some serious sickness that was on his web site.
On it he compared ordering county clerks in California to marry same sex couples to a Nazi officer being ordered to gas the Jews during World War II. It’s so disgusting that someone probably told him it was a bit of a bad idea to run this, so rewrote the section — but not before the original had been cached by Google. Oops.
[UPDATE: One of Homosexual and Homosexualist HQ most seasoned operatives, Jim Burroway of Box Turtle Bulletin, saw the unforgiveable leak of The Homosexual Activism Overview and took quick action. See below the fold.]
Someone’s going to get a spanking from me! I want to know who has turned over one of our top secret strategy documents to the fundie Alliance Defense Fund. Reader Karen in Kalifornia alerted me to the security breach; click the image to see what has been leaked from Homo Headquarters:
Here are the other documents that got away…
Autumn and I have been passing on right-wing reaction yesterday’s historic Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality in California, but I wanted to reserve a post for this unique reaction from fundie Mike Heath of the Christian Civic League of Maine.
He’s basically cried uncle in terms of protecting the word “marriage,” and wants to get back to basics, which sounds a lot like extermination, if you ask me. Homos have been compared to all sorts of things, but I don’t think I’ve been referred to as a weed polluting a lawn. Via email from Blender Herb, who’s on the CCLM mailing list:
Some people are suggesting that California’s ridiculous Supreme Court decision on “marriage” yesterday is reason to renew Maine’s push for a constitutional amendment. Those people are dead wrong. And Mike’s apparently found yet another version of The Homosexual Agenda. See his discovery below the fold. While I support any real efforts to amend the Federal Constitution to protect marriage, I don’t support a Maine constitutional amendment at this time. Anyone who has been paying attention to this issue in Maine for the past two decades knows that the entire Maine political establishment is in “love” with “gay” special interests.
The fight is over if we are going to protect the word marriage only. Most recommendations I hear for constitutional amendments will protect only the word marriage, and allow for civil unions and domestic partnerships. A cursory reading of the Massachusetts and California court decisions will reveal the folly of this approach.
We must attack this problem at its root. If you want to get rid of a weed you don’t pull off the leaves. You destroy the root. The root idea of so-called same sex marriage is special rights for citizens on the basis of sexual wrongdoing. That is where the fight must be engaged.
Our only hope in the short term is the people. If everyone will get behind the League’s referendum we can begin the process of righting the ship of state more quickly.
I call on all people of good will to support our referendum today. It is the loving thing to do. Let’s support marriage and equality. We can’t afford to wait.

They are getting a little punchy in bible-beating newsgathering land.
How’d you like that title on your fundie business card - media and sexuality analyst? It’s probably adjacent to the sign of the fish:
With films such as “Dark-Haired Sluts” and “Next Door Panties” on its movie menu, Marriott International is coming under heavy fire from family activists urging the hotel giant to banish such sexual fare from its bedrooms.
Focus on the Family met with hotel executives in Washington, D.C., yesterday and provided Marriott with a petition signed by 102,000 concerned citizens who want pornographic films purged from the list of movie offerings.
Daniel Weiss, media and sexuality analyst for the group, said Marriott has billed itself as a family-lodging establishment, and its decision to provide adult films to its customers is contrary to its reputation.
“In a sense, they’ve kind of put themselves out there,” he told WND. “We saw that offering pornographic content was incongruent with the image they were really going after.”
OK, well maybe not that one.
Jeebus! It must be Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality’s fundraising quarter as we’ve hit the jackpot again, along with Box Turtle Bulletin. It’s completely over the top batsh*t insane beauteous:
The Left knows hatePast endorsements:
In their continuing effort to steal the legacy of the real civil rights movement, homosexual activists and their allies posit an analogy between racism and “homophobia” — their smear term of choice to denigrate traditionalists. It is a deeply flawed comparison: what does unchangeable skin color and ethnicity have to do with aberrant, immoral and changeable sexual behavior?
…Moreover, the homosexualists are in the uncomfortable position of making actual descendants of slaves — like Pastor Ken Hutcherson of Antioch Bible Church and ex-lesbian Janet Boynes… — the target of their opprobrium. Men and women of color (like Crystal Dixon, a Black woman who recently was suspended from the University of Toledo after publicly making points similar to these) are mere “religious anti-gay bigots,” according to the homo-fundamentalists’ warped formulations.
Being lectured on intolerance by anti-Christian bigots like Tim Kincaid and Barney Frank — or run-of-the-mill leftist hate sites like Daily Kos — is like the USA being scolded for human rights violations by North Korea. If you think I jest, check out the hate-filled comments and vile anti-Christian insults that flow liberally on lesbian Pam Spaulding’s blog (try doing a search on “Jeebus” — a substitute for “Jesus” that secular snobs use to mock Christians).
Pam’s and Tim’s sites are further proof that nobody hates like the Left. And few on the Left hate like the homosexual activists (with radical pro-abortion-on-demand feminists a close second).

It doesn’t seem like it’s been a whole year since the last International Mr. Leather. See The Peter’s report last year, “Photos Reveal Twisted Perversions at Chicago’s Palmer House Hilton Hotel.”
Since we know Peter LaBarbera reads my blog, I’ll just post the ticket information link for him (also, here’s the contest application form, Peter). The fetish event, which draws hets and homos, a fact that Peter tries to minimize, is celebrating its 30th year. It will be at the Hyatt Regency Chicago May 22 - May 26. If Peter plays his cards right, he might meet special guest Andy Bell of Erasure, who will perform on Sunday night at the International Mr. Leather Contest.

While we’re on the topic of the Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (in my basement) honcho, Jim Burroway at Box Turtle Bulletin has a couple of items on Peter. One is on a Christian web site’s embarrassment at the obsessive bleatings at AFTAH:
And why is it just homosexuality. They act as if that is the BIG sin in the scriptures, dismissing all other destructive behaviors and choices. So, I will faithfully be waiting for the following websites to emerge, if these people are really trying to get biblical truth out thereJim’s other post concerns The Peter’s new interest in outing Florida Governor Charlie Crist, who has been rumored to be gay for quite some time. Since Crist’s stock has risen as a possible VP selection for McCain, LaBarbera apparently wants to ensure that homosexuals and/or homosexualists are crossed off the potential Veep list early on.Americans for Truth about Lying

I say to McSame — please consider the recently heterosexually paired governor!
I will give Ronald Rychlak props for one thing — bringing the objection of religious institutions to gay and lesbian couples marrying to the bottom $$$ line.
Regardless of what it is called, legal sanctioning of homosexual relationships creates a host of unintended consequences and constitutes a serious threat to religious liberty. The piece cites the NJ complaint by a lesbian couple who wanted to use a Methodist ministry-owned pavilion for their civil union ceremony. While it was allowed to ban same-sex couples, the Garden State revoked the ministry’s tax-free status.Consider what happened in Massachusetts in 2004: Justices of the peace who refused to preside over same-sex unions due to moral or religious objections were summarily fired. Since same-sex unions were entitled to be treated the same as traditional marriages, this refusal was discrimination and a firing offense.
What about a priest or minister who similarly refuses to preside at such ceremonies? Obviously the state can’t fire such people, but it is easy to foresee other sanctions — such as loss of tax benefits — being imposed on churches.
These people fail to realize that the government doesn’t have to subsidize, through tax-breaks, a church’s ability to discriminate. More whining:
If homosexual marriages or civil unions are the equivalent of traditional marriages, you can’t discriminate. If you do, at the very least you put your government benefits at risk. And so, this means what? Should BJU be allowed to ban interracial dating? It appears the world didn’t come to an end when that onerous policy was abandoned. These folks want Uncle Sam to subsidize their ability to discriminate. This is the same rationale that was used by the Supreme Court in 1983 to uphold stripping Bob Jones University of its tax-exempt status due to its racial policies.
Don Wildmon’s screeching again, calling for action against the manufacturer of Pampers, Tide and Crest over the long-awaited kiss of a gay couple on As the World Turns. My how the mighty have fallen if this is the what gets Don worked up.
Procter & Gamble has resumed using explicit, open-mouth homosexual kissing in their soap opera, “As the World Turns.” P&G decided to include this type of content as a commitment to “diversity.” P&G stopped showing such scenes some months ago, but has now decided to again help promote the homosexual agenda which includes homosexual marriage. Here, folks, is the “explicit” kiss — maybe Don has access to some alternate hard core version we don’t know about.Gay activists are hopeful that the P&G effort will desensitize viewers to the homosexual lifestyle and help make the unhealthy and immoral lifestyle more acceptable to society, especially to children and youth.
View a scene from the April 23, 2008 episode by P&G. WARNING - content is repulsive!
“As the World Turns” is owned and controlled completely by P&G. No network made this decision. P&G alone made the decision to support the homosexual agenda.

Come on, people. Instead of praying for lower gas prices, you need to v-o-t-e out all the Rethugs who rubber-stamped the current administration’s policies and warmongering that got us here.
Rocky Twyman has a radical solution for surging gasoline prices: prayer. As one commenter at my pad said:Twyman - a community organizer, church choir director and public relations consultant from the Washington, D.C., suburbs - staged a pray-in at a San Francisco Chevron station on Friday, asking God for cheaper gas. He did the same thing in the nation’s Capitol on Wednesday, with volunteers from a soup kitchen joining in. Today he will lead members of an Oakland church in prayer.
Yes, it’s come to that.
“God is the only one we can turn to at this point,” said Twyman, 59. “Our leaders don’t seem to be able to do anything about it. The prices keep soaring and soaring.”
…”God, deliver us from these high gas prices,” Twyman said. “That’s all they have to say.”
I wonder how God rates Twyman’s suffering from high gas prices as compared to the suffering of someone, say, raking through garbage on a steaming trash heap in the outskirts of Lagos, searching for something edible, or of someone who has lost his legs or eyesight from a bomb dropped last week on Sadr City.Since Americans are God’s chosen people, perhaps Twyman’s suffering is paramount.
On the other hand, perhaps Twyman will go to Hell for paying taxes to the government that drops the bombs and enforces poverty in the Third World.
Oh nooees! In a Christian Broadcast News report, the ace bankroller of the Homosexual Agenda, the man name-checked by Sally Kern herself, Tim Gill is further exposed as the arch enemy.
You probably haven’t heard the name Tim Gill. And that’s just the way he wants it.The tinfoil hattery is below the fold.Carrie Earll, Senior Director of Issues Analysis for Focus on the Family explains, “Tim Gill is stealth. He’s under the radar. When he goes after a candidate he doesn’t make homosexuality the issue. He picks something else because he knows the issue of homosexuality is still risky among the electorate.”
A Colorado native, Gill still calls Denver home. He made his millions in the 80s and 90s as the founder of the publishing software giant Quark.
…Gill’s no secret in the gay world. Out magazine just named him the fifth most influential gay in the country. But Gill, his spokesperson, and big-time gay rights organizations all refused requests from CBN News to talk about Gill.

Now this had me roaring. EHarmony was founded by Dr. Neil Clark Warren, who had close ties to Daddy Dobson before expanding his online dating service beyond Christian singles. J.P. Duffy, a subscriber who married through the service — and is also media director for the Family Research Council — got wind of the service’s new advice newsletter, “Navigating the one-night stand,” from a friend…and, well, there was an eruption.
“Our friend read the first few lines: ‘So you’re a swinging single, and you’ve had a one-night stand. What’s the etiquette for establishing boundaries, calling the day after and getting out without hurting feelings?’” the couple wrote. An apology was quickly issued from eHarmony’s Stan Holt, vice president for publishing:“Promoting such high-risk, promiscuous behavior is outrageous and irresponsible,” they wrote. “The advice column glosses over the risks of sexually transmitted diseases … ,” they wrote. “Also glossed over is the increased risk for violence among those who ‘navigate’ multiple sexual partners.”
“eHarmony is committed to helping its members find highly compatible, long-term relationships and I regret that the inappropriate content and tone of the column could lead our members to believe that we were not interested in their long-term relationship success.”…You deserve and expect the best from eHarmony and we are dedicated to providing information that resonates with our diverse, vibrant, and thriving community,” he continued. “Please be assured that we are immediately upgrading our editorial review process and are also reviewing our existing content to make sure that it is consistent with the interests of our members.”

Oh my, this is fun. The Peter is horrified that John McCain plans to meet with the Log Cabin Republicans — as if the Arizona senator is some sort of pro-homosexual/homosexualist Trojan horse.
CBS News chief political consultant Mark Ambinder, associate editor of TheAtlantic.com, reports that McCain plans to meet soon with executives of the Log Cabin Republicans. As the article references Marc Ambinder’s post at The Atlantic, see how he describes McCain’s position on LGBT issues below the fold.LaBarbera, founder of the website Republicans for Family Values, says McCain should dump those plans. “I think this is significant. It was significant when George Bush … met with the Log Cabin Federation before he became president — and it doesn’t surprise me that McCain is doing it. I think the danger is that when you try to be pro-homosexual and pro-family at the same time, it doesn’t work,” LaBarbera contends.
According to LaBarbera, McCain would be wise to distance himself from a group that “spews anti-Christian bigotry.” That group’s crusade in favor of homosexual “marriage,” he argues, goes counter to the efforts of pro-family advocates who are fighting to protect marriage with constitutional amendments at the state and federal level.
“So, it becomes difficult for John McCain to say he’s supporting efforts to protect marriage and also supporting the Log Cabin Republicans,” LaBarbera points out. “I just think this is the problem with the ‘big tent’ [philosophy] in general in the Republican Party.”

I guess the letters from Don Wildmon weren’t enough to get the Marriott chain to drop the profitable in-room porno flick service in its rooms, so Daddy D, Tony Perkins and Bishop Harry Jackson signed on to another letter, along with a few dozen other professional “Christians,” to put the pressure on Marriott.
Another letter has been sent to Marriott Hotels asking that pornography be removed from its in-room televisions. This one carries the signatures of almost 50 pro-family leaders — including Dr. James Dobson, founder and chairman of Focus on the Family.Psst. I think those letters are hitting the Marriott circular file, Don. When the fundies stop procuring the TV porn while on the road prosyletizing, womb-controlling and gay bashing, perhaps you might find your effort a bit more successful. From what I hear, when those bible beating conferences roll into town, the usage of those services rockets skyward.“We’re asking Marriott to discontinue showing the in-room porn movies,” said Don Wildmon, founder of the American Family Association. “Very simple. It’s not a big request.”
At least two other letters from pro-family leaders have been sent, with similar messages.
Wildmon said the move would cost Marriott millions of dollars in lost revenue, but the company can handle it.
Don’t you love these creepy prosyletizing pastors who seem to spend an inordinate amount of time traveling the country on a mission to pollute college campuses with insane homophobic, sexist diatribes?
You have to wonder do they realize how crazy they appear to the average person? Take “Brother” Micah Armstrong, a “preacher” from the “Miami Open Air Mission” (Brian, aka Incertus, had to deal with this whack job when Micah turned up at his campus). Watch the action after the jump.

As promised, Steve Ralls of PFLAG National has the full audio up proving Sally Kern likes to bear false witness over and over.
On the recording released today, Kern twice agrees with PFLAG supporters that gay Americans should not be fired from their jobs simply because of their sexual orientation. She goes on to say that “maybe” she would consider a follow-up meeting with PFLAG families in her district and agrees to a dinner invitation from a PFLAG supporter in the meeting. Near the end of the conversation, Kern is asked, in recapping the conversation, if she does indeed oppose anti-gay job discrimination; she responds affirmatively that she does.I don’t know if you can take 40 minutes of the Oklahoma bigot blathering, but Steve says that there are some interesting tidbits that await you, including a bit where the Oklahoma legislator talks about lesbians and golf. It’s after the jump.“Representative Kern’s words speak for themselves,” said Rev. Loyce Newton-Edwards, president of PFLAG’s Oklahoma City chapter. “The recording, which we made with her staff’s consent, is irrefutable evidence that she did agree with us on employment non-discrimination; that she did agree to consider an ongoing dialogue with us; and that she did agree on some basic principles of fairness and equality. It is beyond disappointing that she has now stepped away from those comments, and it is disheartening that she, as an elected leader, has attempted to disavow her own words.”

Oh yes, they are going to eat their own. Here is the petition web site message.
Republican Presidential Nominee, Senator John McCain:It’s up to 1500 signatures so far. Who’s behind the anti-Mitt movement? Someone named William J. Murray, Chairman of Government Is Not God – PAC. Murray’s turned off comments at the petition site because:We call upon you to reject any consideration of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as a Vice Presidential running mate.
We further urge you to only consider for Vice President an individual with a strong and consistent record of support for both the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, and the amendment of the U.S. Constitution to establish marriage as only between one man and one woman.
Our NO MITT petition site on the Internet gave those who signed the petition an opportunity to give a short personal message to Senator McCain as to why they did not want Mitt Romney as Vice President. Individuals used this opportunity to post hateful and bigoted anti-evangelical messages at the site that I cannot reprint here. At one point a volunteer had to work full time to cull out those messages that were too offensive to leave up. We blocked the server at BYU in Utah and the number of offensive messages declined. In the culling process some messages that were not offensive were removed as well, our volunteers did the best they could with the volume. Is that just delicious? My marriage is a social catastrophe…There was an overall dishonesty by the Romney supporters who posted at the NoMittVP site. In order to leave a post they had signed a petition saying they did not want Mitt Romney as their VP choice. To be blunt, they lied in order to post pro-Romney or anti-evangelical messages.
I was surprised by the number of anti-evangelical messages and the tone of hatred for evangelicals in general. However, this has not changed my position or the position of this political action committee. We will still endorse and fund candidates who are Mormon who are consistent social conservatives. We will still not endorse nor fund Catholics or members of Protestant churches who support such social catastrophes such as abortion and homosexual marriage.

Over 50 Pastors organize rally to support besieged
Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern
DATE: Wednesday, April 2
TIME: 12:00pm Noon
WHERE: Rotunda of the Oklahoma State Building
2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City OklahomaWashington, D.C. — On Wednesday, April 2, Concerned Women for America (CWA) will join over 50 pastors in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to rally support for State Representative Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City) and her right to free speech. Recently, Rep. Kern has been under attack from radical homosexual activists and their followers over remarks she made regarding the homosexual agenda. Rep. Kern took a Biblical stand against homosexual activism and has refused to back down from her statements despite receiving death threats.
CWA applauds Rep. Kern for continuing to be steadfast and resolute in this fight against the homosexual agenda and for shedding light on the threat it poses to our nation. Rep. Kern has been quoted as saying that the homosexual agenda is dangerous “because it destroys the basic moral fiber of this nation, which is traditional marriage and the traditional family.” She couldn’t be more right.
The bleating continues below the fold.

“I’m sorry, but my wife’s vagina is enough. I’m going to be honest. It’s enough. It is enough for me. If it is not enough for me, then that’s my problem. The rumors are true. I spoke with Josh Morgan, communications manager at Love In Action. He has confirmed that John Smid has resigned from the Memphis-based residential ex-gay program. A quiet announcement was made to staff and supporters, and an official announcement will be made in their April 1st newsletter to subscribers. Hat tip to bookwrm1, who noted in the comments of another thread that No-Show Sally Kern did show up on TV on Easter Sunday on KFOR-TV to bleat about her bigotry.
She did not apologize or recant her words. She denied having said them several times, then in the same breath turned right around and said them again to the cleric’s face. Ah, we haven’t run an ex-gay story in a while, and this is a doozy. In the Sydney Morning Herald there is an article about the efforts of Mercy Ministries to eliminate lesbians from the flock of Hillsong Church.
In line with the Hillsong Church’s strict doctrines teaching that homosexuality is an affliction that can be cured, Mercy Ministries is keen to ensure there is no lesbianism under its roof. It issues “separation contracts” to young women who make friends with each other and prevents any form of physical contact between residents.Apparently our country has exported the recloseting expertise of this Sy Rogers:“While I was there, we received much teaching on the evils of gay and lesbian lifestyles,” said Naomi Johnson, who spent nine months in the ministry’s Sydney house.
As someone with no issues about her sexuality, she was perplexed by the ministry’s continuing focus on the issue.
“In particular, there was an ongoing teaching video series by Sy Rogers an ‘ex-gay’ - now reformed - married Christian,” she said.
Regarded as a gifted international communicator, award-winning talk show host, recording artist and pastor, Sy has served for over two decades in ministry as a pastoral care specialist regarding sexuality and related concerns. What has Sy helped them out with?

I simply don’t want to hear any more from the Sally Kerns or Jim Naugles of the world about my ability to destroy civilization when they cannot even keep their own horny, depraved heteroworld in order.
In this story out of Sanderson, Florida, we also learn about an alternative spelling for brassiere. That or the woman was going to toss a few shrimp on the barbie after the holy rolling.
Deputies in Baker County arrested a couple caught having sex in a church. Baker County Sheriff’s Deputies say they received a call about a suspicious person outside the Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, on the night of March 11th.
…”Her drawers [were] in the stands. Her brazier was over on the outside the stands,” Deacon Lonzie Altman recalled from his conversation with deputies.
According to the offense report, deputies found Crystal Rowland, 24, behind the altar. Rowland was taken into custody. She told deputies that Matthew Pearce, 28, was still inside. Deputies found him underneath the church, partially dressed.
Red tea candles were also collected from the church. Deputies say there was splattered red wax all over the altar. “I don’t know what has become of the people [that] somebody would just do something like that in a church,” said Altman.
…When asked why they decided to have sex inside the church, police say Rowland told them she wanted a “spiritual and sexual experience.”
…”Don’t think that the lord ain’t got something for them,” said Altman.
Sorry to keep bringing up this saga of No-Show Sally, but I really thought this Kern thing was going to blow over. After all, wouldn’t you want to take a little media holiday after a YouTube of your homophobic rants hit a million views, and you received tens of thousands of emails calling you out for making an ass out of yourself?
Peter LaBarbera, in his lame defense of Sally Kern’s bigotry, is trying to claim there is no transcript of her hateful speech that was recorded.
No complete tape or transcript of the speech has been produced; why has the Oklahoma media relied on an edited video brought forth by a homosexual group out to destroy Sally Kern? Yesterday (March 19), a reporter told Kern that he received a transcribed copy of the full speech, but she still has not seen it.Ooops. Why you can simply read the entire rant is here — nothing is out of context, btw.
And I love her pitch for creationism - it’s after the jump.

The story that will not die, because the bigot is so stubborn.
Why does Sally Kern need an attorney before engaging in a discussion with members of the LGBT community about her remarks as an elected official? (TulsaWorld):
The Thomas More Law Center's press release is now bleating about her being "secretly taped." Kern said it was a public event and she is an elected official, so what is the need for attorneys? You have to read this press release to believe it. The breathtaking lunacy is after the jump.Kern said later that she would be willing to meet next week with two or three people representing the gay and lesbian community. The law center described as a conservative Christian center has offices throughout the country.

Let’s bring the homobigotry closer to home. In my state, we have our own little junior Matt Barber/Sally Kern.
Thankfully Mary Francis Forrester isn’t an elected official, but she is the wife of anti-gay North Carolina State Senator, Jim Forrester (R-Gaston). More on him later.
She’s also a public homophobe — Mrs. Forrester is the legislative liaison and media coordinator for Concerned Women for America of North Carolina (she was also its former director). I think that tells you where this is going. She scribed a ridiculous, color-by-numbers screed on the predatory Homosexual Agenda that Matt Hill Comer of Q-Notes fact-checked and shredded.
Forrester, writing on the Christian Action League web site, selectively cited a piece in the defunct Gay Community News from 1987 as “proof” that the Homosexual Agenda has put into place its long-term vision of taking over.

This matter with Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern’s homophobic comments has now escalated to full-court victim role-playing, as she agreed to go on the air with Matt “Bam Bam” Barber (that’s his own nickname) of Concerned Women for America and Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Turth Against Homosexuality to spin the fallout from her recorded diatribe. Barber labels this episode Homosexual Anti-Christian Hate Groups Attack Christian Lawmaker.” The fundies are circling the wagons to try to make this a free speech issue. Big surprise.
Now as you’ll recall, Kern originally said that her words were twisted and taken out of context. Her story has now changed.
MATT BARBER: Now I understand that you made a speech that was open to the public that addressed the very dangerous homosexual agenda which is infiltrating our public schools and which is destroying the moral fibre of our country and you have been under tremendous assault from multiple homosexual hate groups and from left-wing activists for your statements, is that correct?Bam Bam goes on to describe that Kern was in no way concerned about having been recorded, that it is “left-wing spin” that she was caught saying things she would not have been proud to say on the floor of the Oklahoma legislature. Her outrageous response is below the fold.KERN: Yes, that’s correct, yes.

Oh, my…bring out the tiny violin please…
With a generation of Christian right leaders dead or aging, the founder of the conservative evangelical group Focus on the Family says he’s concerned about the movement’s future leadership.Sally Kern looks like she’d like to step up to the plate, but she seems a bit long in the tooth to be considered the “next generation” of fundie leadership.James Dobson told a group of Christian broadcasters Tuesday night that the passing of Jerry Falwell, the Rev. D. James Kennedy and Ruth Bell Graham represent the end of an era. The radio talk show host noted that others like Billy Graham, Chuck Colson, Pat Robertson and Chuck Swindoll will also soon pass from the scene, and questioned the impact on the conservative Christian church.
“It causes me to wonder who will be left to carry the banner when this generation of leaders is gone,” Dobson told an audience of nearly 1,400 at the National Religious Broadcasters conference. “The question is, will the younger generation heed the call? Who will defend the unborn child in the years to come? Who will plead for the Terri Schiavos of the world? Who’s going to fight for the institution of marriage, which is on the ropes today.”
…”Who in the next generation will be willing to take the heat, when it’s so much safer and more comfortable to avoid controversial subjects,” Dobson said. “What will be the impact on the conservative Christian church when the patriarchs have passed?”
Dobson, 71, said many of his comments on Tuesday were the same he made at Kennedy’s funeral last fall, when he told those in attendance he’s praying that the next generation of Christians will answer God’s call to take up the mantle of leadership.

(UPDATE: Oh, the hilarity - you know what Kern is now citing as “proof” of the Homosexual Agenda? The drivel of Matt Bam Bam Barber, policy director for Concerned Women for America and The Peter! — hat tip, Alvin.)
(UPDATE 2: I’ve added contact information for the OK City Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau below the fold. These entities have much at stake since this is Sally Kern’s district. Are her views as a public official representative of the business climate that the city wishes to project? They should be on the record.)
Heaven help the LGBT citizens and allies who are in Oklahoma; there’s a lot of work to do in terms of turning the tide of ignorance and hate when an outrageous homophobe like Sally Kern receives a standing ovation in the legislature. Let all the bigots stand up and be counted, I say. Her colleagues should proudly hold a press conference to declare their support of Kern.
A state lawmaker who declared that homosexuality is a greater threat to the United States than terrorism said Monday that she received a standing ovation from her fellow Republican legislators Monday.More below the fold.Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, said she has been barraged with more than 5,000 e-mails since she made national headlines over the weekend. Most of the communications were critical, and several contained language that Kern said she has never heard before.

After all the calls and emails, take a look at this reaction from unrepentant homophobe Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern (sallykern@okhouse.gov). (Via Oklahomans for Equality’s Laura Belmonte):
Studies show, no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted for more than, you know, a few decades. . .
…They are going after our young children, as young as two years of age, to try to teach them that the homosexual lifestyle is an acceptable lifestyle.
One of my colleagues said We don’t have a gay problem in our community…well you know what, that is so dumb. If you have cancer in your little toe, do you just say that I’m going to forget about it since the rest of you is fine? It spreads! This stuff is deadly and it is spreading. It will destroy our young people and it will destroy this nation.

Contact: State Rep. Sally Kern
Capitol: (405) 557-7348Kern Responds to Activist Criticisms
OKLAHOMA CITY – State Rep. Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City) issued the following statement today in response to the criticisms of homosexual activists who have objected to a recent speech she gave on their efforts to promote their agenda at both the federal and state level.
“To put this simply, as a Christian I believe homosexuality is not moral. Obviously, you have the right as an American to choose that lifestyle, but I also have the right to express my views and my fellow Oklahomans have the right to debate these issues.
“In recent years homosexual activists have begun to aggressively promote their agenda through the political process, often providing substantial financing to candidates who agree with their views, including many running for state legislative races. National publications such as Time, The Atlantic and USA Today have noted that trend. That is their right, just as it is my right to voice opposition to their agenda, which I have been asked to do at several public forums in recent months. That’s what democracy is all about. It appears some homosexual activists believe only one group is allowed a voice in this debate. I disagree.

Deputies in Baker County arrested a couple caught having sex in a church. Baker County Sheriff’s Deputies say they received a call about a suspicious person outside the Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, on the night of March 11th.
