Hat tip to Brian at BlueNC for this news — homobigot Vernon Robinson, who tried and failed to unseat Congressman Brad Miller in the 13th District race here in 2006, has picked up something as a consolation prize — the “Willie” award for Worst Political Advertisement, given by progressive thinktank Growth & Justice.
Here’s what Vern actually put on the air to receive the honor; he does the NC GOP proud:
And a snippet the post I did back when that ad was first released (March 2006) is below the fold.

Ah, Rick Santorum, returning from his anti-”Islamofacism” post-Senate efforts to familiar homo-hate territory. He’s back in the news, penning a ridiculous op-ed in the Philly Inquirer, “The Elephant in the Room: A wake-up call on gay marriage after ‘03 alarm went unheeded.”
Bigot! Hate-monger! Homophobe! And look, he’s worried that the elimination of discrimination will make all of the heterosupremacists look back at the good old days when homos were on the run. Those were just a few of the terms hurled my way in 2003 when I said that the Supreme Court’s Texas sodomy decision opened the door to the redefinition of marriage.
When I wasn’t ducking the epithets, I was being laughed at, mocked, and given the crazy-uncle-at-the-holidays treatment by the media. Or I was being told I should resign from my leadership post by some Senate colleagues.
Five years later, do I regret sounding the alarm about marriage? No.
I’m just saddened that time has proved right those of us who worried about the future of marriage as the union of husband and wife, deeply rooted not only in our traditions, our faiths, but in the facts of human nature: as Pope Benedict said, “The cradle of life and love,” connecting mothers and fathers to their children.
(Cue epithets: Bigot! Hate-monger! Homophobe!)
The latest distressing news came last week in California. The state Supreme Court there ruled, 4-3, that same-sex couples can marry.
In doing so, four judges rejected a statute that passed in a referendum with 61 percent of the vote that defined marriage as a union of one man and one woman.
Let me go out on another limb here and make another crazy prediction. Within 10 years, clergy will be sued or indicted for preaching on certain Bible passages dealing with homosexuality and churches, and church-related organizations will lose government contracts and even their tax-exempt status.Have fun with the rest. The California judges also ruled, for the first time in American legal history, that sexual orientation is just like race.
The California court just declared that those of us who see marriage as the union of husband and wife are the legal equivalent of racists. And openly racist groups and individuals can be denied government benefits because of their views, including professional licenses (attorney, physicians, psychiatrists, marriage counselors), accredited schools, and tax-exempt status for charities.
(UPDATE: Now that he’s going to be the GOP’s nominee, John McCain finally “discovered” how radioactive Rod Parsley is and repudiated him as well. There will definitely be a fundie eruption over this one.)
Today John McCain finally gave the boot to batsh*t fundie Pastor John Hagee of the 17,000-member Cornerstone Church in Texas after audio was released of the televangelist saying that Hitler had been sent by God to help Jews reach the Promised Land via the Holocaust. This was nothing new, however, so one wonders what rock the Arizona senator and his staff have been hiding under:
[I]n his 2006 book “Jerusalem Countdown”, Hagee proposed the theory that “anti-Semitism, and thus the Holocaust, was the fault of Jews themselves — the result of an age old divine curse incurred by the ancient Hebrews through worshiping idols and passed, down the ages, to all Jews now alive.” He also wrote that “Most readers will be shocked by the clear record of history linking Adolf Hitler and the Roman Catholic Church in a conspiracy to exterminate the Jews.”Of course it would be interesting to know why this particular insanity crossed the line for McCain, since he had previously refused to reject the endorsement of Armegeddon proponent Hagee, who has condemned Catholics, gays, women, blacks and more from the pulpit and on video.
We’ve been blogging about the juicy-mouthed Patriot Pastor for a long time now. Apparently this influential nutbag has finally caught fire on the blogs.

Yes, the god-fearing denizens of the Freepi swamps were so vile after hearing the news about Ted Kennedy that the moderator posted this message upon shutting down the thread:
Some of you are a disgrace to this forum, and life is too short to waste cleaning up your messes.
I don’t care how hilarious rapist / murderer-releasing, Christian Reconstructionist- supported, Man-On-Dog wannabe, former Arkansas governor, and Baptist minister-without-a-theology-degree Mike Huckabee thinks he is, this isn’t funny. We’ve already seen the yahoo vote unapologetic about the fact that they’d never vote for a black man — and plenty of them have an NRA card.
After all, look at what a Freeper posted yesterday in response to the marriage equality ruling in California. These folks are sick.During a speech before the National Rifle Association convention Friday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee — who has endorsed presumptive GOP nominee John McCain — joked that an unexpected offstage noise was Democrat Barack Obama looking to avoid a gunman.
“That was Barack Obama, he just tripped off a chair, he’s getting ready to speak,” said the former Arkansas governor, to audience laughter. “Somebody aimed a gun at him and he dove for the floor.”

I’m really starting to wonder whether this level of stupidity and batsh*ttery by the Right — as they watch their political fortunes swirl the bowl because of Bush’s legacy — has completely untethered them from reality. Take a look at this unbelievable nonsense by Bill O’Reilly, who went on a tirade about the fact that Markos Moulitsas (Kos of Daily Kos) has a Newsweek column, and that O’Reilly was embarrassed that Markos ran a clip of the Faux News blowhard going ape on camera during his old Inside Edition days.
What’s even more entertaining is the bile O’Reilly’s fans unleashed into Markos’ mailbox — out comes the violent schooyard faggotry taunts from the intellectual giants. A sampling is below the fold.

Autumn and I have been passing on right-wing reaction yesterday’s historic Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality in California, but I wanted to reserve a post for this unique reaction from fundie Mike Heath of the Christian Civic League of Maine.
He’s basically cried uncle in terms of protecting the word “marriage,” and wants to get back to basics, which sounds a lot like extermination, if you ask me. Homos have been compared to all sorts of things, but I don’t think I’ve been referred to as a weed polluting a lawn. Via email from Blender Herb, who’s on the CCLM mailing list:
Some people are suggesting that California’s ridiculous Supreme Court decision on “marriage” yesterday is reason to renew Maine’s push for a constitutional amendment. Those people are dead wrong. And Mike’s apparently found yet another version of The Homosexual Agenda. See his discovery below the fold. While I support any real efforts to amend the Federal Constitution to protect marriage, I don’t support a Maine constitutional amendment at this time. Anyone who has been paying attention to this issue in Maine for the past two decades knows that the entire Maine political establishment is in “love” with “gay” special interests.
The fight is over if we are going to protect the word marriage only. Most recommendations I hear for constitutional amendments will protect only the word marriage, and allow for civil unions and domestic partnerships. A cursory reading of the Massachusetts and California court decisions will reveal the folly of this approach.
We must attack this problem at its root. If you want to get rid of a weed you don’t pull off the leaves. You destroy the root. The root idea of so-called same sex marriage is special rights for citizens on the basis of sexual wrongdoing. That is where the fight must be engaged.
Our only hope in the short term is the people. If everyone will get behind the League’s referendum we can begin the process of righting the ship of state more quickly.
I call on all people of good will to support our referendum today. It is the loving thing to do. Let’s support marriage and equality. We can’t afford to wait.

They are getting a little punchy in bible-beating newsgathering land.
How’d you like that title on your fundie business card - media and sexuality analyst? It’s probably adjacent to the sign of the fish:
With films such as “Dark-Haired Sluts” and “Next Door Panties” on its movie menu, Marriott International is coming under heavy fire from family activists urging the hotel giant to banish such sexual fare from its bedrooms.
Focus on the Family met with hotel executives in Washington, D.C., yesterday and provided Marriott with a petition signed by 102,000 concerned citizens who want pornographic films purged from the list of movie offerings.
Daniel Weiss, media and sexuality analyst for the group, said Marriott has billed itself as a family-lodging establishment, and its decision to provide adult films to its customers is contrary to its reputation.
“In a sense, they’ve kind of put themselves out there,” he told WND. “We saw that offering pornographic content was incongruent with the image they were really going after.”
OK, well maybe not that one.

So I was listening to the latest episode of “On The Media” on Mighty Ponygirl’s suggestion (because they have a great report on the Cult of Ayn Rand and how they’re trying to buy themselves credibility they can’t generate honestly), and I heard this story that I think should be an iconic example of how the Bush administration is both evil and stupid. It’s about the corruption in the Office of Special Counsel, which is a whistleblower protection agency. As you can imagine, the Bush administration is opposed to whistleblowing (and puppies and kittens and sunshine), so they went out and found the craziest asshole wingnut possible to head up this office: Scott Bloch. He did an admirable job of refusing to do the job he was appointed, and in proper BushCo fashion, this exemplar of malfeasance is now facing a cavalcade of subpoenas and general calls for his head. Bloch ran into trouble when he squelched a complaint that came from the Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, because it turns out they were able to get the FBI to care enough to raid Bloch’s offices, take his computers, and subpoena 17 employees to testify against him. The executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility is suggesting that Bloch successfully destroyed the office to the point where it’s easier now to dismantle it and rebuild how the government handles whistleblowers than to salvage the office.
Jeebus! It must be Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality’s fundraising quarter as we’ve hit the jackpot again, along with Box Turtle Bulletin. It’s completely over the top batsh*t insane beauteous:
The Left knows hatePast endorsements:
In their continuing effort to steal the legacy of the real civil rights movement, homosexual activists and their allies posit an analogy between racism and “homophobia” — their smear term of choice to denigrate traditionalists. It is a deeply flawed comparison: what does unchangeable skin color and ethnicity have to do with aberrant, immoral and changeable sexual behavior?
…Moreover, the homosexualists are in the uncomfortable position of making actual descendants of slaves — like Pastor Ken Hutcherson of Antioch Bible Church and ex-lesbian Janet Boynes… — the target of their opprobrium. Men and women of color (like Crystal Dixon, a Black woman who recently was suspended from the University of Toledo after publicly making points similar to these) are mere “religious anti-gay bigots,” according to the homo-fundamentalists’ warped formulations.
Being lectured on intolerance by anti-Christian bigots like Tim Kincaid and Barney Frank — or run-of-the-mill leftist hate sites like Daily Kos — is like the USA being scolded for human rights violations by North Korea. If you think I jest, check out the hate-filled comments and vile anti-Christian insults that flow liberally on lesbian Pam Spaulding’s blog (try doing a search on “Jeebus” — a substitute for “Jesus” that secular snobs use to mock Christians).
Pam’s and Tim’s sites are further proof that nobody hates like the Left. And few on the Left hate like the homosexual activists (with radical pro-abortion-on-demand feminists a close second).

While we’re on the topic of the Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (in my basement) honcho, Jim Burroway at Box Turtle Bulletin has a couple of items on Peter. One is on a Christian web site’s embarrassment at the obsessive bleatings at AFTAH:

From Echidne, a jaw-dropping tale from the fundie vs. reason battleground in our public schools.
Substitute teacher Jim Piculas does a 30-second magic trick where a toothpick disappears then reappears.
But after performing it in front of a classroom at Rushe Middle School in Land ‘O Lakes, Piculas said his job did a disappearing act of its own.
“I get a call the middle of the day from the supervisor of substitute teachers. He says, ‘Jim, we have a huge issue. You can’t take any more assignments. You need to come in right away,’” he said.
When Piculas went in, he learned his little magic trick cast a spell that went much farther than he’d hoped.
“I said, ‘Well Pat, can you explain this to me?’ ‘You’ve been accused of wizardry,’ [he said]. Wizardry?” he asked.
Read that next to this post by tristero, to really get that he’s not kidding when he says this.
Oh, my. Oh, my. Oh. my. god. Where do you even begin in this fact-free screed from South Carolinian Nancy Morgan, news editor of RightBias.com?
Personally, I cringe when I see two guys swapping spit. Or when half naked transsexuals flaunt their sexuality in public places. I always wonder what they’re celebrating. A lifestyle that takes 20 years off your life? A dangerous, deadly and costly way of life that effectively undermines traditional families? The fact that gays and lesbians experience twice the partner abuse of straight couples? No, they’re celebrating their empowerment, leaving all other Americans to pay the social and financial costs involved. After all, they’ve got rights. What do you make of the unhinged obsession with half-naked transsexuals and wagging naughty bits in public? I haven’t noticed any transgender weenie wagging in my state. Is there something more egregious going on when you cross the state line into SC?I’ve got rights, too. I have the right to pick my nose in public and wave it in someone else’s face (unless they’re gay or black - then it would be a hate crime). Good manners and a decent upbringing keep me from exercising this right. I also have the right to object when someone shoves their personal sexual habits in my face and demand that I not only tolerate it, but endorse it. That’s just plain rude. Hey, I’m still trying to figure out why weenie waggers are arrested while half nude trans-sexuals sporting fake organs have the right to wave them in public.
Gays are portrayed as victims of an unfeeling society. As such, they have been granted special rights not available to other Americans. The right not to be offended, the right to automatic respect, and the right to offend any person or group that dares to object. Imagine the outcry if Christians were granted these same rights.
The gurus of political correctness have decided that anyone who is not in agreement with the increasingly blatant homosexual agenda is a homophobe. Color me homophobic. I not only disagree with flaunting ones privates in public, I also disagree with exposing this behavior to children and telling them its their right, if not their duty, to put their sexuality above all other considerations.
Don Wildmon’s screeching again, calling for action against the manufacturer of Pampers, Tide and Crest over the long-awaited kiss of a gay couple on As the World Turns. My how the mighty have fallen if this is the what gets Don worked up.
Procter & Gamble has resumed using explicit, open-mouth homosexual kissing in their soap opera, “As the World Turns.” P&G decided to include this type of content as a commitment to “diversity.” P&G stopped showing such scenes some months ago, but has now decided to again help promote the homosexual agenda which includes homosexual marriage. Here, folks, is the “explicit” kiss — maybe Don has access to some alternate hard core version we don’t know about.Gay activists are hopeful that the P&G effort will desensitize viewers to the homosexual lifestyle and help make the unhealthy and immoral lifestyle more acceptable to society, especially to children and youth.
View a scene from the April 23, 2008 episode by P&G. WARNING - content is repulsive!
“As the World Turns” is owned and controlled completely by P&G. No network made this decision. P&G alone made the decision to support the homosexual agenda.

As Richard at All Spin Zone notes, shouldn’t there be an investigation by officials into this? Inciting a riot is a felony. Here’s Rushbo:
He said the riots would ensure a Democrat is not elected as president, and his listeners have a responsibility to make sure it happens.Richard:“Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don’t elect Democrats,” Limbaugh said during Wednesday’s radio broadcast. He then went on to say that’s the best thing that could happen to the country…
…Limbaugh said with massive riots in Denver, which he called “Operation Chaos,” the people on the far left would look bad.
“We do, hopefully, the right thing for the sake of this country. We’re the only one in charge of our affairs. We don’t farm out our defense if we elect Democrats … and riots in Denver, at the Democratic Convention will see to it we don’t elect Democrats. And that’s the best damn thing that can happen to this country, as far as I can think,” Limbaugh said…
Someone needs to tell me the difference between Rush Limbaugh and Moqtada al-Sadr (above and beyond the fact that al-Sadr is an ordained cleric, and Limbaugh is just an ordained asswipe). And I want to know how Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, etc. etc. can continue getting away with inspiring their listeners to violence, yet are never called on it by either the Republican Party leadership or law enforcement authorities.Note this is not an exaggeration — Mr. Hillbilly Heroin could be in a heap of trouble. Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper realizes that a line has been crossed, saying “Anyone who would call for riots in an American city has clearly lost their bearings.”If you feel so moved, you can contact the Colorado Attorney General’s office and express your concerns. At a minimum, inciting to riot is a serious offense. When the call goes out from someone of Limbaugh’s stature, who has legions of loyal dittoheads hanging on his every word, it’s very, very likely that his “call to arms” could motivate some right wing crackpots to action.
Why does Rush Limbaugh hate America?

He’s at it again. This time the “like-minded man” with Concerned Women for America is comparing homosexuality to smoking, drinking, toking and hitting the crack pipe. This, friends, is how he objects to the Day of Silence.
Can you imagine officials at a middle school, junior high or high school setting aside a day to promote “tolerance” for heavy smoking and drinking among children? How about a day where teachers encourage kids to “embrace who they are,” pick up that crack pipe and give it a stiff toke?More below the fold.Neither can I. The public would go ballistic, and for good reason.
But that hasn’t stopped officials in thousands of schools across the country from promoting other politically correct and socially “in-vogue” behaviors that - both statistically and manifestly - are every bit as dangerous as the aforementioned frowned-upon behaviors.
That’s exactly what the homosexual activist “Day of Silence” is all about - advancing, through clever, feel-good propaganda, full acceptance among children of the homosexual lifestyle.

Oh my, this is fun. The Peter is horrified that John McCain plans to meet with the Log Cabin Republicans — as if the Arizona senator is some sort of pro-homosexual/homosexualist Trojan horse.
CBS News chief political consultant Mark Ambinder, associate editor of TheAtlantic.com, reports that McCain plans to meet soon with executives of the Log Cabin Republicans. As the article references Marc Ambinder’s post at The Atlantic, see how he describes McCain’s position on LGBT issues below the fold.LaBarbera, founder of the website Republicans for Family Values, says McCain should dump those plans. “I think this is significant. It was significant when George Bush … met with the Log Cabin Federation before he became president — and it doesn’t surprise me that McCain is doing it. I think the danger is that when you try to be pro-homosexual and pro-family at the same time, it doesn’t work,” LaBarbera contends.
According to LaBarbera, McCain would be wise to distance himself from a group that “spews anti-Christian bigotry.” That group’s crusade in favor of homosexual “marriage,” he argues, goes counter to the efforts of pro-family advocates who are fighting to protect marriage with constitutional amendments at the state and federal level.
“So, it becomes difficult for John McCain to say he’s supporting efforts to protect marriage and also supporting the Log Cabin Republicans,” LaBarbera points out. “I just think this is the problem with the ‘big tent’ [philosophy] in general in the Republican Party.”

Just wanted to alert you that the master of electoral disaster has decided the Republican party just doesn’t cut it any more. Alan Keyes made his announcement of a possible third party run before a “throng” of supporters.
Speaking to a group of about 60 people in the Lincoln Ballroom at Genetti’s Best Western Inn in Hazleton, Keyes, 57, said he could no longer stay in a party that has lost its way.He said the “Republican Party has come to a dark and confused place.”
Though he stood in front of a red, white and blue banner that read, “We need Alan Keyes for president,” Keyes did not say he was running this fall. He hinted at that possibility and mentioned the Constitution Party as a potential fit for him, but stopped short of making that announcement official.
These days, Little Ricky Santorum, who went down in flaming defeat in his Pennsylvania U.S. Senate re-election bid in 2006, earns his living these days bashing all things related to Islam. He recently appeared at a Yale Political Union to debate the “War on Islamic Extremism.” The reception was, well, less than a standing ovation. (Yale Daily News):
Amid a chorus of condemning hisses, supportive banging and outright laughter, former Republican Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum argued for war with radical Islam at the Yale Political Union debate Thursday night.Hat tip, Bob in Raleigh.…Santorum seemed to remain unfazed by any skepticism in the audience and only got louder as he argued for the origins of Islamic extremism in the religion’s founding.
He offered a contrast between Jesus Christ and Muhammed as the basis for the irreconcilable differences between Christianity, which he linked to the West, and Islam, which he linked to the Middle East.
“The greatest Christian, the Messiah, is Jesus — he never ruled a country, never forced anyone to convert,” Santorum said. “Islam, on the other hand, was founded by Muhammed who went on to conquer much of the Middle East and Northern Africa.”
He pointed to how Muslim leaders of Spain, centuries ago, gave nonbelievers the option of converting or facing death. He did not mention the Spanish Inquisition, and he excused episodes of Christian violence as “misguidance.” This message did not sit well with some in the audience who did not appreciate what they termed a “history lesson.”
“I don’t think Rick Santorum is qualified to give us a lecture on the history of Islam,” Benjamin Chaidell ’11 said. “He oversimplifies the religion of Islam and the struggle against Islam as an ‘us vs. them’ phenomenon.”
Don’t you love these creepy prosyletizing pastors who seem to spend an inordinate amount of time traveling the country on a mission to pollute college campuses with insane homophobic, sexist diatribes?

Here we go again, this time in Michigan. From the Grand Rapids Press:
What is also clear is that if Scarborough was in such a panic, he got over it pretty quickly after stuffing Manious’s body in the trunk, since he went on a four-day binge, using the dead man’s cell phone and credit cards for shopping sprees, gas and air fare to Texas. He was arrested in the Lone Star State.Scarborough admits in taped police interview that he hit Victor Manious with a bat, stuffed him in a car trunk after sexual advances.
More taped police interviews with accused murderer Steve Scarborough were played today for the jury charged with deciding whether the 21-year-old is responsible for the murder of Victor Manious in July.
In the interview between Grand Rapids Detective Kristen Rogers and Scarborough done from a Texas county lock-up, the accused claims that he was sitting in the Kalamazoo Avenue SE apartment of his friend Justin Robinson when Manious entered the apartment.
He said Manious set his keys on a kitchen counter, crossed over to the living room where Scarborough sat on a couch and asked if Robinson was home while at the same time the 62-year-old removed his clothes. Scarborough was interviewed for several hours, which were taped after he fled to the Houston area on Aug. 3 with a plane ticket he allegedly bought using Manious’ credit card.
Scarborough said Manious, stripped down to his underwear, put his arm around him, tried to kiss Scarborough and grabbed at him. Scarborough said he was freaked out by the advances of the man, hit him with a bat and dragged his body down a flight of stairs. He said he put the man in the trunk of his own Toyota and left the victim to die in the car parked on Ottawa Avenue NW.

As promised, Steve Ralls of PFLAG National has the full audio up proving Sally Kern likes to bear false witness over and over.
On the recording released today, Kern twice agrees with PFLAG supporters that gay Americans should not be fired from their jobs simply because of their sexual orientation. She goes on to say that “maybe” she would consider a follow-up meeting with PFLAG families in her district and agrees to a dinner invitation from a PFLAG supporter in the meeting. Near the end of the conversation, Kern is asked, in recapping the conversation, if she does indeed oppose anti-gay job discrimination; she responds affirmatively that she does.I don’t know if you can take 40 minutes of the Oklahoma bigot blathering, but Steve says that there are some interesting tidbits that await you, including a bit where the Oklahoma legislator talks about lesbians and golf. It’s after the jump.“Representative Kern’s words speak for themselves,” said Rev. It is beyond disappointing that she has now stepped away from those comments, and it is disheartening that she, as an elected leader, has attempted to disavow her own words.”

Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern
DATE: Wednesday, April 2
TIME: 12:00pm Noon
WHERE: Rotunda of the Oklahoma State Building
2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City OklahomaWashington, D.C. — On Wednesday, April 2, Concerned Women for America (CWA) will join over 50 pastors in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to rally support for State Representative Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City) and her right to free speech. Recently, Rep. Kern has been under attack from radical homosexual activists and their followers over remarks she made regarding the homosexual agenda. Rep. Kern took a Biblical stand against homosexual activism and has refused to back down from her statements despite receiving death threats.
CWA applauds Rep. Kern for continuing to be steadfast and resolute in this fight against the homosexual agenda and for shedding light on the threat it poses to our nation. Rep. Kern has been quoted as saying that the homosexual agenda is dangerous “because it destroys the basic moral fiber of this nation, which is traditional marriage and the traditional family.” She couldn’t be more right.

AJ Bockelman, the Executive Director of PROMO, Missouri’s statewide LGBT organization, sent me information on another elected bigot who unfortunately has contempt for students who are non-conforming in appearance.
Ironically, House Rep. Jane Cunningham (R-86) is chair of the Elementary And Secondary Education Committee. The legislature is considering Missouri Safe School Legislation (HB 1751), a bill that would strengthen current state anti-bullying law by prohibiting bullying motivated by “actual or perceived race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, intellectual ability, physical appearance, or mental, physical, or sensory disability or disorder.”
During LGBT Equality Day in Jefferson City on Wednesday, she emitted a helluva bigoted screed. From PROMO’s press release:
Two youth attempted to speak with Representative Jane Cunningham (R-86) regarding Safe Schools Legislation because of her position as chair of the House Education Committee. Upon entering Rep. Cunningham told the youth to leave, as she “couldn’t look at [them] anymore,” because their appearance “offended” her. Both youth have facial piercings as many students do. The youth thanked Rep. Cunningham for her time and left the office. It gets worse below the fold.

Ah, we haven’t run an ex-gay story in a while, and this is a doozy. In the Sydney Morning Herald there is an article about the efforts of Mercy Ministries to eliminate lesbians from the flock of Hillsong Church.
In line with the Hillsong Church’s strict doctrines teaching that homosexuality is an affliction that can be cured, Mercy Ministries is keen to ensure there is no lesbianism under its roof. It issues “separation contracts” to young women who make friends with each other and prevents any form of physical contact between residents.Apparently our country has exported the recloseting expertise of this Sy Rogers:“While I was there, we received much teaching on the evils of gay and lesbian lifestyles,” said Naomi Johnson, who spent nine months in the ministry’s Sydney house.
As someone with no issues about her sexuality, she was perplexed by the ministry’s continuing focus on the issue.
“In particular, there was an ongoing teaching video series by Sy Rogers an ‘ex-gay’ - now reformed - married Christian,” she said.
Regarded as a gifted international communicator, award-winning talk show host, recording artist and pastor, Sy has served for over two decades in ministry as a pastoral care specialist regarding sexuality and related concerns. What has Sy helped them out with?

I have a couple of posts up at my pad that are quite entertaining. You all have probably not received the latest copy of the Homosexual Agenda; there must be a mole in the movement because the professional town crier religious zealots keep figuring out our next moves and hidden weapons that will ensure our world domination.
Take our power to affect the weather and natural disasters. Recently a member of the Knesset, Shlomo Benizri, exposed the reason for seismic disasters — it’s the homosex, stupid.
During a special Knesset session on Israel’s preparedness for the possibility of another earthquake hitting the region, the Shas member said “the Gemara refers to earthquakes as disasters, but you are searching only for the practical solutions how to prevent and repair. But I think someone must have slipped Benizri a phony page in that section of the manifesto (good job). Daddy Dobson unintentionally revealed that our powers over natural disasters is actually quite limited. Recently it was announced at its action news organ CitizenLink that Focus on the Family is raising money for a Christian school in Tennessee torn apart by a tornado.“But I no of another way to prevent earthquakes; the Gemara mentions a number of causes of earthquakes, one of which is homosexuality, which the Knesset legitimizes,” Benizri said.
…Mike Hammel, chairman of the Israeli Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Association commented on Benizri’s remarks saying “it is sad that a religious MK in Israel doesn’t think earthquakes are God-made.
“On the other hand, I suppose we should be flattered he attributes us with such magical powers,” he added.
The Rev. H.B. London, head of pastoral ministries at Focus on the Family, encouraged listeners during today’s radio broadcast to join Focus in helping Union University, which was heavily damaged by the deadly tornadoes that hit five southern states in February. These tragedies are bad enough — people are left homeless, without any resources, and we all know that various unhinged “Christian” leaders run right to the microphones to make political homo-hay out of natural disasters to help fill the coffers. (I’m glad that Focus is doing something charitable here; but somehow I’d be surprised if an earthquake in San Francisco would result in an outpouring of the same magnitude because the homoquotient is so high.)The tornadoes, which killed 59 people, damaged or destroyed nearly every building at the Jackson, Tenn., university. The school’s 1,200 students survived, but officials say it could cost as much as $40 million to restore the campus. The school has established the Union University Disaster Relief Fund so others can help.
Then again, the folks at the Family Research Council have a better idea on to minimize risk to heterosexual, God-fearing America — just deport all of the homos.

The story that will not die, because the bigot is so stubborn.
Why does Sally Kern need an attorney before engaging in a discussion with members of the LGBT community about her remarks as an elected official? (TulsaWorld):
The Thomas More Law Center's press release is now bleating about her being "secretly taped." Kern said it was a public event and she is an elected official, so what is the need for attorneys? You have to read this press release to believe it. The breathtaking lunacy is after the jump.Kern said later that she would be willing to meet next week with two or three people representing the gay and lesbian community. "I'd have no problem meeting with them next week when I have my lawyer," she said. Kern said she is working with a lawyer from the Thomas More Law Center based in Ann Arbor, Mich. The law center described as a conservative Christian center has offices throughout the country.

Let’s bring the homobigotry closer to home. In my state, we have our own little junior Matt Barber/Sally Kern.
Thankfully Mary Francis Forrester isn’t an elected official, but she is the wife of anti-gay North Carolina State Senator, Jim Forrester (R-Gaston). More on him later.
She’s also a public homophobe — Mrs. Forrester is the legislative liaison and media coordinator for Concerned Women for America of North Carolina (she was also its former director). I think that tells you where this is going. She scribed a ridiculous, color-by-numbers screed on the predatory Homosexual Agenda that Matt Hill Comer of Q-Notes fact-checked and shredded.
Forrester, writing on the Christian Action League web site, selectively cited a piece in the defunct Gay Community News from 1987 as “proof” that the Homosexual Agenda has put into place its long-term vision of taking over.

Scarborough admits in taped police interview that he hit Victor Manious with a bat, stuffed him in a car trunk after sexual advances.
