Peanut butter: Creamy
Bread: Wheat
Steak: Medium Rare
Ice Cream: Mint Chocolate Chip
More below the fold.
Sleep habits
Morning or evening person?: Evening
Tummy, back or side sleeper?: Tummy
Need an alarm or wake up on own?: Alarm

Movies
Flashdance or Footloose?: Neither
Star Wars or Star Trek?: Both but a little bit more Star Wars (55%/45%)
Subtitles or dubbing?: Both After years of watching anime I've noticed that the dubbing and subbing of a movie do not alway yeild the same translation. I know that is partly due to mouth movement but sometimes actual details are lost in translation.
Comedy, drama or documentary?: How about a comical docu-drama?

Popular Music
Classic soul or hip hop?: Both
Hair band or grunge?: Both
CDs or MP3s?: MP3s

Additional categories from readers…
Favorite Cereal?: Honey Smacks
Seafood?: Scallops
And I second what Pam said:There’s no point in seafood without hush puppies if you’re a Southerner.
I think there's a law here in NC that if you sell seafood you MUST offer hushpuppies under threat of jail time...lol.
Hot Drink?: Tea
Soda?: Dr. Pepper
Crackers?: Trisquits
Books?: Anything but those cheesy romance novels.

However, everyone will unite against the soymilk drinkers. And I’m a soymilk drinker. Can’t digest cow’s milk anymore. And I really do like the taste of soymilk. SO THERE.

I am a soy milk drinker. Moo cow fuck milk is the third of my 3 fibro food triggers.

When I went to the grocery on Sunday they had London broil steaks on sale for $1.89 a pound - that's like 60% off the regular price. I bought this nice squared-off piece, about 2" x 2-1/2" x 9" and 2-1/2 pounds. I took it home and put it in one of those extra-large Ziploc bags with a couple of cloves of garlic all minced up, a bunch of black pepper, an ounce of red wine, an ounce of vegetable oil, an ounce or two of water and about a third a packet of "herbs and spices" marinade off the grocery store spice rack. Then I let it sit in the refrigerator for two days.

Tonight I fried up a half an onion, turned the burner to max and seared both sides of the steak, then put the onions back in the frying pan and turned the burner down to about half-way. I started a pot of saffron rice and waited about ten minutes, then I added a handful of peas to the rice and flipped the steak over. After another six minutes I took the steak off the burner By that time, the onions and the beef juice were reduced to a gooey, spicy dark brown sauce. Another five minutes and the rice was done and the steak was ready to slice.

Oh, I wanna tell you, it was so meltingly tender and juicy I practically swooned, plus I've got the stuff to make sandwiches for the rest of the week. And afterwards for dessert, a shot of Dickel number twelve straight up, chased down by a glass of ice cold Yeungling. All is good, all is well, aw Hell yeah!

Peanut butter: chunky, creamy or don’t eat it/allergic?
Creamy. I find that chunky tears up the bread too much, though I do like it as well.

Bread: white or wheat?
Wheat. I'm particularly partial to Nature's Own Sugar-Free 100% Wheat.

Steak: rare, medium, well-done, or no meat?
Ever since getting severe indigestion from a very rare (but very good) steak I had in Mexico as a young lad, I have only liked my steaks well-done.

Ice Cream: chocolate, vanilla or mixes (Cookies n Cream, Rocky Road, Butter Pecan, etc.)?
Definitely mixes. Infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

Sleep habits
Morning or evening person?
Evening. My natural wakup time is around 10 AM and always has been. I can't pull all-nighters anymore like I did in college, but I'm always good to go until 4 or 5 AM.

Tummy, back or side sleeper?
Back or side. Just not comfortable for a fat guy to sleep on my stomach.

Need an alarm or wake up on own?
For work, an alarm (actually two alarms) is de rigeur.

Movies
Flashdance or Footloose?
Believe it or not I haven't seen either one. Can I vote for Road House?

Star Wars or Star Trek?
Trek wins because it's a much more liberal universe. Lucas' vision is an appalling aristocratic dystopia. See David Brin's classic essays on the subject.

Subtitles or dubbing?
Dubbing, especially hilariously comedic ones like the Dynaman series that was shown on Night Flight (done by a couple of the Kids In The Hall).

Comedy, drama or documentary?
All of the above, if done well. Comedy is the toughest of the three, for my money.

Popular Music
Classic soul or hip hop?
Hip hop I guess. Not really my genres...If you classify Seal and Sade as Soul, I'll take those too.

Hair band or grunge?
Grunge has more heart, something to say.

CDs or MP3s?
CDs, which I can then rip to MP3s.

Favorite Cereal?
Any kind of low-sugar vaguely healthy mix, as long as it doesn't have raisins. I'm apparently allergic to raisins, though I have no problem with grapes. I tend to get store brand banana-nut cluster cereals.

Seafood?
Grilled Salmon.

Hot Drink?
Tea, I never acquired the taste for coffee.

Soda?
Diet anything. I particularly like the new Diet Coke Plus and Pepsi Max.

Crackers?
Toss-up between unsalted tops and fat-free. Either will suffice as a delivery system.

Books?
Lots of science fiction, tending towards "harder" military SF (David Drake's Hammer's Slammers, John Ringo's March trilogy, David Weber's Honor Harrington books, etc.) but also encompassing the more psychological and philosophical adventures (David Brin, Heinlein). Also I read quite a bit of Fantasy/SF (Julian May's Pliocene Exile series), and classics such as Tolkien.

Peanut butter: creamy
Bread: white
Steak: rare
Ice Cream: I mostly like fruit-flavored ice cream: strawberry, raspberry, cherry, peach...

Sleep habits
I'm mainly an evening person
I usually start off on my side but end up on my stomach by the morning
I usually need an alarm if I have anything to do before noon

Movies
Footloose
Star Wars
Subtitles--if you've ever tried to watch Run Lola, Run dubbed into English you'd get the preference for subtitles
Comedy, drama or documentary?--All of the above

Popular Music
Classic soul
Grunge
CDs or MP3s?--both. I love my Ipod but I don't have an Ipod adapter in my car, therefore I need CDs.

Favorite Cereal?
Granola with raisins
Seafood?
Calimari
Hot Drink?
Tea...black tea, green tea, some herbal teas...pretty much anything but chamomile and cinnamon varieties.
Soda?
I don't drink pop as a rule. I've had Coca-cola maybe three times in my entire life, twice it was to calm an upset stomach and once it was mixed with rum. I'm not a huge fan of carbonation.
Crackers?
Ritz, probably
Books?
The top two are George Orwell's 1984 and Margaret Atwood's The Blind Assassin...I love dystopian novels, I love feminist work (fiction and non-fiction), and I also like most books which involve sword-fighting, elections, or both. (Peter David's Knight Life has both.)

I usually need an alarm if I have anything to do before noon

Movies
Footloose
Star Wars
Subtitles–if you’ve ever tried to watch Run Lola, Run dubbed into English you’d get the preference for subtitles
Comedy, drama or documentary?–All of the above

Popular Music
Classic soul
Grunge
CDs or MP3s?–both. I love my Ipod but I don’t have an Ipod adapter in my car, therefore I need CDs.

Favorite Cereal?
Granola with raisins
Seafood?
Calimari
Hot Drink?
Tea…black tea, green tea, some herbal teas…pretty much anything but chamomile and cinnamon varieties.
Soda?
I don’t drink pop as a rule. I’ve had Coca-cola maybe three times in my entire life, twice it was to calm an upset stomach and once it was mixed with rum. I’m not a huge fan of carbonation.
Crackers?
Ritz, probably
Books?
The top two are George Orwell’s 1984 and Margaret Atwood’s The Blind Assassin…I love dystopian novels, I love feminist work (fiction and non-fiction), and I also like most books which involve sword-fighting, elections, or both. (Peter David’s Knight Life has both.)

Peanut butter: Natural chunky
Bread: Homemade wheat
Steak: Medium, on the few occasions I eat it
Ice Cream: ANYTHING with chocolate in it

Morning or evening person? Evening
Tummy, back or side sleeper? Side
Need an alarm or wake up on own? Both (I set my clock half an hour ahead for the 2-3 times a year I don't wake up on time. I look up, think "Holy Crap!", and jump out of bed; by the time my brain wakes up and realized that I'm NOT late, it's too late - I'm up and awake)

Flashdance or Footloose? Flashdance (I grew up in a town like the one in Footloose {shudder})
Star Wars or Star Trek? I have to choose (she wails). BOTH.
Subtitles or dubbing? Subtitled (dubbing should be outlawed)
Comedy, drama or documentary? All the above

Classic soul or hip hop? Soul all the way
Hair band or grunge? Grunge, of course (I'm from Seattle)
CDs or MP3s? Both but prefer live (disclaimer: I'm a DJ - I'll take music in ANY form)

Favorite Cereal? Cap'n Crunch if I'm feeling indulgent; granola otherwise
Seafood? All seafood, especially crab
Hot Drink? Mocha, the biggest one ya got, baby
Soda? Barqs or Classic Coke
Crackers? eh, can live without 'em
Books? Anything, although I don't read much hardcore sci-fi or sappy romances (I have enough books to start my own library, as I discovered when I moved recently). Books are my favorite addiction - legal, cheap, easily obtainable.... ah, escape!

Designated Hitter: Good or Bad? Don't follow baseball enough to have an opinion
Tabasco or Cholula? Tabasco
Indian Food or Thai food? Thai
Souvlaki or Gyros? Both
Red Wine or White? Reds, but will drink not-too-dry whites
