Saw this ad at Salon. I like Laura Dern, so I may have to figure out how to operate the DVR thingamabob to record this.

I want to see this for Katherine Harris camp value alone. Unfortunately, no HBO at casa Opoponax, so I guess I’ll be waiting till it’s out on video.
Oh, and I’m also curious to see the spin on who really won the election and why, not to mention their line on how exactly Bush got to be the president (assuming that’s not answered by my first two questions). I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the legacy of 2000 and how it will be seen in the popular memory — this should provide some clues.
alright… Let’s redo 2000 shenanigan
lawsuit, close votes, fail machineries, bobble head on TV, party officials with no backbones, corruptions, bankrupt politics, money, …
.. rerun!
It’s important, because people forgot about what a travesty it all was in the days after 9/11. Really, shit was spinning out of control since before Bush got into the White House.
It does look entertaining, but we don’t get HBO here either. So I guess I’ll be waiting as well.
Who’s playing Hillary Clinton?
Ohhhhh wait…
Kind of makes me nostalgic for the early 2000s.
During a time without RickRolled, lolcats, HaHa Guy, Chuck Norris Jokes…

This is such an ambiguous sentence, but I concur, I think.
I don’t know–after all this shit, I don’t think I’m ready to laugh at it. I don’t know that I’ll ever have the distance necessary to laugh about that, other than in a bitterly sarcastic way as I stand over the decomposing bodies of…. sorry, I drifted a bit there.
Incertus–
I’m with you, but I’m very eager to see it anyway. I think I’m addicted to outrage, and this looks like a good way to get my fix.
I have strong visceral rejection feelings towards Kevin Spacey, and this video did not arouse them. That’s a really good sign.

My memory of the pre-9/11 George Bush was that he was a mediocre president who occasionally pop into the news cycle for the occasional lame posturing and political non-events such as his stem-cell ban, the spy plane captured in China, and, to bring the subject up for the second time this week, the time he choked on a pretzel.
Put a gun to my head and I still don’t think I’d be able to remember anything else.
I’d love to see Laura Dern really strut her stuff. Too many of her roles are pedestrian, and it’s obvious she has real talent.
I’m also looking forward to the freeper conniption that will inevitably erupt due to the movie’s failure to take the straight GOP line.
The Colbert Report played a clip from the film awhile back, and I just couldn’t believe they were able to find an actress that could portray Katherine Harris’s crazy-eyes and impish smile so *perfectly*!
I rejoice at anything that has Bob Balaban in it. And Bob being Bad? I’m there.
Just the trailer started giving me a sick feeling in my gut, I don’t think there’s any way I could watch this movie.
I tear up nearly every time I see this ad on the tv.
Colbert did have the best take. Something to the effect of, “Recount is like Titanic for Democrats, only the Supreme Court elected the iceberg President.”
Being a Broward County resident at the time, and hoping that my chad was not merely dimpled, I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch this without causing serious harm to my TV and/or hairline.
