The local GOP just lost that seat. Molinari took it because “Traveling Jack” got ABSCAMed. Now the circle has turned.

often caught up in immoral or sociopathic activities.
Perhaps some sort of compensatory or anger thing…
shrinks would know.

Actually, resigning would have resulted in a special election a few months before the regularly scheduled election and a congresscritter who probably wouldn’t be seated until the next session anyway.

At least this time he might have been thinking of others and the expense to the party and state.

Interesting contrast with his sister - somehow, male and hetero privilege buy you morality and respectability? Creep.

I love that his sister is so immoral that he can’t be expected to be in the same room with her, but having a child with another woman out of wedlock and maintaining her as a separate family is perfectly okay and OMG how can you even think of judging him!?!?

Without the anchor of a Congressional seat, he could quickly deteriorate.
