  1. The comments over there are depressing as all get out. If I ever hear “of Edwards fame” used seriously again I am going to crumple large pieces of paper into large crumply crumples.

  2. The idea that this was some incredible victory for pro-choicers seems a little absurd to me.

Many people are going to hear about the original story and not the hoax part and assume this is another godless liberal who kills babies for amusement. Even if they do hear that it’s a hoax many will still think “wow what a crazy pro-choice bitch with no respect for human life and no sense of decency!”

I can’t see how it’s more than a draw at best. Wingnuts look stupid? They always do and it rarely matters.

The comments over there are awful. Why are there so many creepy right wing trolls on a website devoted to reproductive health?

^^ But you did a good job of torching “Joshua.”

“Dear” = “Miss Marcotte” in the patronizing department.

  5. Obviously, she wasn’t actually artfully performing abortions.
Everyone knows if you do it that way, you are supposed to be awarded both ears and the tail.

I’m not sure whose comment it was on the RH site (I think it was one of phylosopher’s), but I think I finally understand what Schvarts was trying to say/show. The only thing I don’t understand is the use of the herbs. The introduction of the semen adds the possibility of pregnancy. Got that. The video taped bleeding leads to the possibility of miscarriage or menstruation. So I’m assuming the herbs add the possibility of abortion? Because there are no definites, we don’t know and everything is pure speculation. Is that the point?

At first I was appalled by all this, but after reading Schvarts’ statements and other comments on other blogs I think I see the point. Just want to make sure I got it ‘cause I was quite confused at first. Thanks!

  9. The comments there are depressing. I do hope that people leave comments to counter them. ;)

Yeah, the way I read it was that the herbs (she probably drank a cup of parsley tea or something) give the possibility of INTENTIONAL rather than spontaneous abortion.

Amanda, you’re awesome. This nails all the things I’ve been thinking about the art project since it came up. Thanks for being, once again, the lone voice of sanity in the wilderness.

The commentors over there are on crack. And not in a good way.

Drawn to it like wasps to beer…

    I’m betting black cohosh …

She did pull a great prank, very well thought out too. I hope she gets a good grade.
