Yuengling just got to South Carolina last year. I hadn’t heard of it until then. Now, it’s my favorite reasonably priced beer.

I don’t think they have it in Illinois, which would explain why Obama had never heard of it.

Unfortunately, a large part of our political culture is that it hasn’t progressed beyond high school. Our political parties have become the “jock” party vs. the “nerd” party. It doesn’t matter how good the nerds are at, well, actually running the place, they simply aren’t as cool as the jocks.

Obama’s bad bowling scores are just another way to paint him as a nerd.

Hm, had no idea Yuengling’s reach had spread as far south as the Carolinas… I grew up in Louisiana and never heard of it till I moved to NYC, which is all of 2 hours away from Philly.

opoponax, I dunno, but Yuengling is pretty common and popular here in NC. Can’t say as how it’s my favorite beer or anything, though. I’m a dark-beer person.

I just can’t get over the tremendous vapidity of the whole bowling thing. I mean, what? I can’t bowl for crap (except in Wii bowling, where I kill). I guess that, combined with the beer thing, disqualifies me from all jobs ever because I can’t just be one of the guys.

Oh wait, being female already did that.

(That was not intended as a Hillary/Obama comment, just a general sarcastic remark.)

I suspect that no one explained spot bowing to him, or he would have done a lot better. I used to get 35’s pretty regularly until someone told me what those spots were for — after that I did a *whole* lot better — at least consistently over 100.

So here we go on the six steps to anyone — pass the message to Obama about spot bowling!

He’s a bit trapped on the athletic font, I mean here a guy who’s probably in better shape than anyone we’ve e;ected president in hell, in memory (sorry but dubya was a a lkutz and seems addled and Bill was always um, robust) but he can’t play the one suport he apparently plays on primary days because well, um he’s black and him rippingin it on the hardwood is basically kind of (due to prejudice) beleieved to be a given (it’d be like i\f we were electing an asian preisdent and he did kung fu to chill).

My favorite “Obama is an elitist!” comment so far, from tonight’s ABC News:

Apparently Obama is an elitist because he’d never had Yuengling beer before.

Ummm, OK, who outside of PA and a few nearby mid-Atlantic states is familiar with Yuengling? Does this make every redneck in Alabama and New Mexico an elitist by default? I mean, it’s not like he accidentally admitted that he’d never heard of Budweiser.

I’m convinced that the media is pulling for Hillary so McCain will be our next president.
