Mother of god, this is horrible. We nominate to the patheon of homo hate Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern (sallykern@okhouse.gov). She didn’t know that she was being recorded in a meeting, so we get the a nice insight about what she thinks of her gay and lesbian constituents. Perhaps she doesn’t think she has any.
About 30 seconds into this homobigoted, fact-free, BS screed, Rep. Kern actually says how she doesn’t hate gays (of course not!), then proceeds to continue on her tirade of filth.
I don’t think you need to guess which party Kern belongs to. This is a woman who sits on the Education Committee in the OK legislature. She’s also a member of Mother Schlafly’s Eagle Forum.Some tidbits:

What pisses me off the most is that Kerns makes it okay for people to make life pure hell for some of the most vulnerable among us…GLBTs born in the country.
Those kids in rural America who are GLBT have no resources, often very little or nothing in the way of familial support, and are the people targeted by cowards like Kerns. (Way to pick your targets, you disgusting bigoted witch!)
With guidance from an individual I met way back on TT, and as it happens, a fellow Pandagonian, we were able to assist a young trans and his girlfriend (both of whom worked for me) to relocate to Ann Arbor, MI…still small town, but hardly rural…and it is a whole new world for them. Both of these kids have spent their lives waiting for the next blow from the Kerns of this world, bracing themselves, covering up or just laying down.
It is so good to know these youngsters as they stand up. I don’t see much of them anymore, and the calls have dwindled from daily to biweekly, if that.
I miss them…but like to think of the loss as a job well done.

It’s a shame that those in leadership positions today forget that they are not in those positions necessarily becuase of what they belief, but because of what their constituents belief, need, and desire. Hence they are supposed to “represent” those who “hired” them into office. If this person is to act in accordance with her personal beliefs and disregard those of the citizens that she is supposed to support and represent within the governmental body to which she was elected, then that person should be removed from office, as that person is not serving the people, but simply serving his/her self interests. And that in a nut-shell is what a public servant is supposed to be. But if she is simply expressing her own opinion which will not affect the needs of her constituents, then fine, stay in office, else leave to somebody else.
