Actually, if you read the supplie3d links, it appears that the Secret Service *are* making this reduced effort part of the standard.

If this kind of thing happens once, you tell the agent in charge — don’t allow it again — and that word gets passed through the ranks.

if it happens twice you seriously work out a systemic fix.

For the reported frequency of this, it has to have been approved at the top.

I wold like to point out to people who are talking about the Secret Service protecting Obama, that during the height of the post-9/11 panic, someone attacked Democratic congressmen with anthrax, and in the following six years not one damn thing has been done about it.

Going further back, the Secret Service failed to protect Robert Kennedy and John Kennedy.

Now getting on the Constitution train, if a court finds that his words constitute “true threats” or “incitement” he can be enjoined from further speaking / publishing them.

Considering that the Supreme Court found that the “Nuremburg Files” website was perfectly legal even though it supplied the addresses of abortion doctors and crossed out/grayed out their names if they were killed or wounded, don’t pin your hopes on any kind of injunction. Unless he puts a mob together and marches at its head to the person’s house with guns, you’re not going to get him on an incitement charge.
