It's fantastic, one of my favorites. I'm a firm believer that the remix is the art form of the 21st century.

god I loved her! Thanks for the remix version. I was in Quebec when she died and saw the regular news' 5 minute tribute to her. Never to happen in US news shows I think.

I have a favorite album that I don't think is on cd -- it's live at Town Hall in the 1940's (1950's?). Everything is pure genius, but there's a live impromtu song there that really makes it chilling.

One of my faves as well! Another huge fave on the same disc is Summertime. I like to listen to this disc when I run.

I like Feist's cover as well.

I see that there's a box set of the first three Remixed discs. Anyone know if they're going to continue with this, or the cycle is done. Like I said above, I adore the idea of the remixed series---and the catalog that verve has to work with is amazing. I'm sure that more than a few people gained an introduction to Nina or Ella or Billie through hear a Remixed version somewhere.

That's what I love--new pieces of music, as well as introducing new audiences to great artists. I hope they aren't done.

I adore that Sinnerman remix, and the Postal Service remix of Simone doing Little Girl Blue (I think it was on Verve Remixed 3?). The Postal Service one is unique in that it's unmistakably in the remixer's style, yet Simone's voice is somehow still not out of place. Few of the Verve remixes venture so far into the realm of modern synth-pop and turn out so well.

A bit more Nina fun...couldn't resist. Every time I listen, I'm reminded what a genius she was as an interpreter (even if she didn't have the greatest voice).
