He looks like a real freak in that picture. Huckabee wants to have adulterers, homosexuals and rape victims stoned to death. He also wants to make alcohol and music videos illegal, and make women 2nd class citizens and to take all girls out of school.

Oops, my bad, that's another 'religion'.

Hey, anybody but the PIAPS!

if you’re MAD
punish your country
VOTE for Hillary

Why are you guys burying Huckabee now when the best thing that could posssibly happen would be for him to win the nomination?

I still maintain Ron Paul would be the perfect candidate to run against. Almost as easily beatable as Huckabee but Paul at least brings something - end of Iraq and drug wars for starters - to the table as well as batshit nuttery. Huck just brings the crazy.

A big problem is that people like him aren't actually trying to rewrite the Constitution to reflect all the Biblical strictures and prohibitions - they'll be quite selective.

Divorce, pork, shellfish, haircuts, mixed-field planting, working on weekends (whichever day counts as Sabbath) - they'll all stay. They aren't dumb enough to try to reinstate slavery, and they sure won't push for polygamy.

But they'll go after abortion, out gay people, contraception and the like. And they'll claim that they are following the Bible and not cherry-picking their own prejudices.

Scary.

I think they're saner than we give them credit for. They don't actually believe all this god/gays crap nearly as much as they're spoiled children - the kind we all knew in middle or high school - who are just doing it to piss off the nerds (us.)

I love the way Freepers have spent years calling abortion mass murder and gay marriage a threat to the very fabric of society, but as soon as someone proposes to actually do something about it, they turn on him.

Let’s hope there’s not a Huckabee choice in the general. Simply put, after the past several years I don’t trust my fellow citizens.

It's funny. I start out being all angered about Huckabee and his desire to tear down the wall between church and state. But then, I start to think about the other Republican candidates, and frankly I am not sure that Huckabee is actually worse than Romney, who wants "Double Guantanomo", or McCain, who wants to stay in Iraq for another century, according to his own statements.

I must admit, however, that trying to create the Christian version of Sharia law in the US could create Constitutional problems that are beyond what we have seen yet. There are a lot of things in modern US society that go completely against what is in the Christian Bible, even the New Testament. Take Divorce, for instance. According to Christ in Matthew 5:31, Divorce is unacceptable for Christians. Trying to make Divorce illegal in the US sounds to me like a way to throw our society into chaos.

Damn. I mean, damn. That's so awful even those gibbering simpletons are appalled.

I'll tell you one thing, if Elmer fucking Gantry here wins the election I'm expatriating to Mars.

An inquisition is also a delight for sick, sadistic bastards, because it gives them a legally sanctioned way to indulge in torture.

Now what's wrong with torture, freepie?

Nonsense. Huckabee shouldn’t be the nominee of our party but that doesn’t give you license to spout crap. Huckabees motivations for amendming the Constitution are not unconstituional. It’s called freedom of religion.
I love this quote. Yes, freedom of religion encompasses imposing that religion on everybody. Brilliant. How do theocrats figure out the tough questions like spoon and fork operation or say, walking?
