The Punkasses are cracking me up. Marc found this cartoon that strongly resembles a certain morning routine that a certain cat puts me through. I thought other cat owners could relate:
Better/worse than having a hairball lobbed into your eye? You decide.
Shuffle the songs on your iPod or other MP3 playing device and share with everyone here. There’s a country and rockabilly bent to the first half of the list today.
I feel bad about neglecting Panda Songs, but to make up for it, I linked a couple MP3s in this list and have a bonus up at the bottom.

The only thing it was missing was the wet nose to the face…that would come right before the baseball bat. Otherwise it was perfect.
That’s our cat, glowworm. Although she probably has the IQ of a gnat, she thinks we’re incredibly dumb. If she could point to her mouth, she would. I have seen her do a little routine where she meows at us until we follow her into the kitchen, where she’ll look pointedly at her empty bowl, then meow, then bite the bag holding her food, then meow at her bowl again. Because, you know, we’d never remember to feed her otherwise.
Oh yeah, the wet nose to the face. Of course, that portion usually happens around five or six in the morning because she’s gotten lonely. If patting our face with her paw doesn’t work, she starts head butting us. And the whole time she’s purring profusely, drooling, and has a sort of glazed over look in her eyes.
Other nights, we are treated to what we think Klingon Opera might sound like. She “kills” a toy and then starts screaming bloody murder to let everyone know they can now come and “feast” on it. She’s very proud of herself those nights.
Wow. I just saw the clip and I have to say that using a bat was too harsh. I iwhs that cat would have done a Heathcliff (scratch) him

Eight of my ten songs are what I would consider cloudy day songs becasue of the sound.
…BTW, if my first list shows up, disregard that one. This RT is the real one.
Haha, awesome cartoon. Scratching my feet is another tactic my one cat employs.
My kitty prefers teeth. It took me about a month of this to realize that biting is kitty speak for “THAT MALE ONE HAS NOT YET FILLED MY EATING BOWL, SO I GUESS YOU’LL DO.”
I’d rather our cat not get any ideas…

We don’t let our cats into the bedroom, so instead they fling themselves bodily against the door trying to open it. And when a 12-pound cat throws himself against a flimsy apartment door, the whole building knows what he’s doing.
My dogs used to do the on-the-bed-off-the-bed, on-the-bed-off-the-bed thing until I got up and fed them. The thing was, they started this routine a little earlier every morning. The day they woke me up at 4:30am was the day I decided to change feeding time to when I got home from work at night. I started feeding them half in the morning and half in the evening, gradually shifting more and more to the evening feeding until the morning feeding was gone. Worked pretty well for me.

We had a cat who would wake us up with a single claw, sitting on us and deliberately giving a poke to the face.
that they do, Dr. Locrian. I used to say: If I ever get married, Swervedriver’s playing my wedding.
Maybe I should just concentrate on trying to marry Londoner-accented Adam, now. Not sure how the boyfriend would feel about that, though.

Joe P, you must have adopted my cat’s littermate. Oliver doesn’t do the claw on the eye but the drool and the slow extension of claws seems quite familiar. Oliver would rather knead my hair. Quite a rats’ nest.
That cartoon was amusing. Nice to know that cats are the same the world over.

It was better than the hairball up until the cat used its claws. When the bat was employed, I was like “Damn! ….yeah, I think I’d be more comfortable with partially digested fur blasted onto my cornea, thank you very much…”
My cat used to climb on top of me and knead like that before going to sleep. I miss him.
